Contrite Tweet of the Day: Jimmy Fallon took to Twitter moments ago to apologize to Michele Bachmann for the controvertial antics of the Late Night’s house band. It was revealed earlier that The Roots had mocked Rep. Bachmann by performing a cover of Fishbone’s “Lyin’ Ass Bitch” as the GOP presidential candidate was walking onto the set.
In a statement to Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy, drummer Questlove said “the performance was a tongue-in-cheek and spur of the moment decision,” and noted that Fallon and the rest of the crew were not aware of the band’s plans. “I feel bad if her feelings were hurt,” he added. “That was not my intention.”
It was unclear if any disciplinary action was taken, but Fallon did tweet earlier that Questlove was “grounded.”

Screw apologies, this is just another reason that Jimmy Fallon has the best house band in the history of late night house bands, another being it’s The Roots.
